Kath Derisson

Founder, Financial Planner & Chief Compliance Officer

  • Kath’s experience in finance started back in 2005, in the UK. She has worked for some large, multi-national banks, through to boutique financial planning firms.

    Being qualified in both the UK and now the USA, Kath has a unique perspective she uses to provide holistic, unbiased, fee-only advice to her clients. Kath’s clients are from various corners of the USA, and Americans that currently reside in the UK.

    Kath encourages collaboration with other professionals to ensure her clients receive comprehensive planning, and as a fiduciary, her clients are always the priority. Learn more about what fee-only and fiduciary means here.

  • Aside from finance, Kath also co-owns Your Financial Matters, a financial literacy-focused online course company.

    Kath is almost complete with her CFP designation and Enrolled Agent exams and hopes to continue constantly learning each and every year to improve the services her clients receive.

  • Kath holds the following qualifications and certifications:

    BA Hons in English Language and Literature from the University of Wales, Swansea, UK

    UK Level 4 Diploma in Financial Advice Qualification from the London Institute of Banking and Finance

    PETR Level 6 Pension Transfer Qualification from the London Institute of Banking and Finance

    Series 7, and Series 66 are both administered by FINRA please review Brokercheck or SEC

    Financial Social Work Educator from the Center for Financial Social Work

Susan Masood

Office Manager & Client Relationship Specialist

  • Susan is a dedicated finance professional with many years of experience in a variety of functions in the banking and credit union sector. At Fyvie, she is responsible for many financial planning tasks and data entry provided to us by our clients and you may even have a friendly email from her chasing a document or two! Susan will continue to be the primary point of contact in an emergency if Kath is out of the office.

  • Susan lives in Omaha, Nebraska with her ten-year-old son. Her favorite hobbies include encouraging others to be authentic, exercising, and creating new plant-based recipes.

  • Susan started her professional career in the banking industry, predominantly serving credit unions and community banks.

    After 10 years, she has transitioned into social entrepreneurship and community development. She recently shut her local small business to enable her to attend college to further her education but she continues to support her community through philanthropy by sitting on the BOD of Together Inc.

Erica Manoz

Lead U.S. Tax Preparer & Bookkeeper

  • Erica is a seasoned tax, data reconciliation, and administration professional. Her focus at Fyvie will be working directly on client accounts for bookkeeping and payroll, whilst being an assisting hand with tax and accounting queries.

  • Erica is a first-generation Mexican-American born to immigrant parents. At an early age, she has used her voice to help those in her community. Over the years, Erica has taken on various titles at prior positions to help employees and customers with a language barrier. When she’s not using her attention to detail and positive energy to help others, you’ll find Erica at home with a book as her husband and kids watch football.

  • Erica has most recently worked at a large local health provider in their billing department alongside a national tax preparation company during tax season.

Kris Busche

Paraplanner & Client Relationship Specialist

  • Kris works with Fyvie on a contractor basis but she is definitely key to our success. She trains staff on financial planning software and allows them to truly grasp the planning needs of clients. Kris has passed the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) exam and continues to grow in her understanding of more complex scenarios and planning work.

  • Kris lives in Illinois, and remotely works with Fyvie. One of her children is taking an element of their college degree in Kath’s homeland of the UK.

  • Kris holds an MBA in Finance and Management. She supports other Financial Planning firms in addition to Fyvie.

I’Shea Boyd

Administrator

  • I’Shea Boyd is a financial planning enthusiast with a background in data analysis and project management. A first-generation graduate from the University of Maryland College Park, I’Shea holds a degree in computer engineering. Her professional journey has been marked by a blend of technical expertise and a passion for making a meaningful impact in people’s lives.

    I’Shea brings a unique perspective to the financial sector. Currently pursuing CFP (Certified Financial Planner) certification, she is laying down the foundation to transition into a role as a financial planner. Her vision extends beyond just managing finances; it's about empowering individuals and families to navigate the complexities of financial planning with confidence.

  • To start helping families, I’Shea founded a scholarship awarded annually to seniors from Baltimore City. By promoting and fundraising for this scholarship, she is taking proactive steps towards reducing the burden of student loans. She is committed to building lasting client relationships based on trust, transparency, and a client-centric focus.

  • I’Shea Boyd is a first-generation graduate of the University of Maryland College Park with a degree in computer engineering. I’Shea has a professional background in data analysis and project management. She is currently taking CFP certification classes as a foundational step in becoming a financial planner.

Karrissa Jyles

Administrator

  • Karrissa recently became the co-founder of Your Financial Matters with Kath. Although Karrissa has a limited role in Fyvie Financial LLC now, she is often around and assisting with bigger business projects.

  • Aside from her career and education, Karrissa also serves on the Board of Directors at the POC Collaborative, a local nonprofit that provides access to critical resources that support and elevate resident voices, and entrepreneurial innovation, and strengthens the cultural and historic fabric of Nebraska. She is a dog mom to a Pitbull/Boxer mix and a Maltipoo (maltipoo is the boss) and she enjoys doing DIY projects from YouTube tutorials.

  • Karrissa’s experience in finance started in 2012 at PayPal, before e-commerce was what it is today. She then transitioned on to a local family-owned bank in corporate compliance and human resources. Karrissa had the unique experience of working at the state’s Department of Economic Development at the onset of the pandemic, which allowed her to gain experience working with small businesses and helping them apply for PPP loans. Karrissa is currently the sole employee at a new nonprofit in Nebraska, that focuses on providing financial education to youth and adults who demonstrate a great economic need for these skills. 

Taylor Hineline

Business Development Specialist

  • In her role at Fyvie Financial, Taylor plays a necessary role in our business development division. She wears many hats, including managing our social media accounts to keep our clients engaged and informed. Taylor also helps to design our website, where she works to create an inviting and user-friendly online experience.

    One of Taylor’s projects she is working on includes developing and maintaining our upcoming members-only area, set to launch in May 2024, showcasing her dedication to enhancing our client's experience.

  • Taylor shares her home with her husband and four adorable cats. Outside of work, she enjoys diving into the pages of a good book, unleashing her creativity through crafting, and collecting Starbucks tumblers and Squishmallows.

    Beyond her hobbies, Taylor is deeply passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. She works as a patient advocate, focusing particularly on individuals dealing with chronic illness and mental health challenges. Taylor understands the struggles that these populations face in accessing quality care, and it is her heartfelt mission to help bridge that gap and ensure they receive the support and attention they deserve. Her dedication to advocacy shines through in her commitment to making positive changes in her community and beyond.

  • Taylor brings with her a background in healthcare, particularly in medical reception, showcasing her exceptional organizational and client management skills. Despite being new to the finance industry, Taylor has quickly familiarized herself with the intricacies of our business and has developed a passion for learning more about finance.

Desi, Rivers, Murphy, & Mika

The Support Team

  • Kath’s husband Desi, Step-daughter Rivers, pup Mika, and three-year-old Murphy, are the four who always provide backup support through being a cheerful face or wet paw on a rainy day or providing comedic value for a funny story Kath can share with clients.

  • Desi creates music in his in-home studio; that’s his true passion whilst managing household tasks, and also completes technical tasks required for the business to sustain itself.

    Rivers is now 12 years old, and enjoys her time at school, but is far more excited to dance and unleash her creative genius!

    Mika who is now 5 believes she is still a young puppy!

    As a family, they love to travel back to the UK each year, have fun, play games, watch movies, and just experience life.
